Brew Buddies

Brew Buddy’s will be the next phase of our befriending service by extending the telephone befriending to individuals meeting in a neutral place locally (facilitated by staff initially) for a brew and a chat (brew is a northern term for cuppa).

Connecting with other people that have a common ground and understanding of each other can be a really positive experience.

This type of initiative was initially set up in March 2017 called Chatty Café encouraging coffee shops to designate a special “chatter and natter” table where strangers can bond over a hot drink. More than 500 cafes across the UK from the Scottish Highlands to Southern Cornwall, have since signed up.

This will build relationships, build confidence, reduce social isolation and work towards integration back into the community. The aim of this approach is to create independence to that the group meets together facilitated by themselves.
