Rapid HIV Testing

Rapid HIV Testing – We will introduce a free, confidential non- judgemental rapid Testing service including a self testing kit which can be sent out to individuals via the post. This will give individuals an opportunity to talk to staff about how they can reduce the risk of exposure to HIV and STI’s. Individuals will find out the results during the appointment.

Ongoing support will be provided if required.  Regular testing for HIV and STIs is essential for good sexual health and everyone should have an STI screen, including an HIV test, annually if having condomless sex with new or casual partners Condoms will also be available via the Ccard service we provide.

The C-Card is a card that gives people quick and easy access to free condoms. Consistent and correct use of condoms can significantly reduce risk of STIs; the availability of condoms should be promoted by local services including through condom distribution schemes. We will continue to work alongside the local NHS Sexual Health Team as part of HIV testing week.
